Vinicius is contracted until 2027 amid links. With the Saudi Arabian club ready to splash the cash to bring the Brazilian forward to the Middle East this summer. But the 24-year-old has now rubbished the speculation by confirming. He wants to sign a new deal with the club as soon as possible.

‘I am very calm because I have a contract until 2027 and I hope to renew it as soon as possible because I am happy here. Everyone loves me and likes me very much. I could not be in a better place,’ Vinicius said.

‘I’m here to continue everything the president and the club have given me. I hope to score more goals and play more games with this shirt. I’ve won trophies, but I can win more and I can make history for this club with great players who are legends.’

Despite having his playing style changed to suit the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius has still been impressive, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists in 35 games so far. 

‘I am in top form at the moment. I have had injuries. With a lot of games you cannot be 100 per cent in every game. Playing 80 games you cannot always be at your best. You are not in top form or fit all the time. A lot of players are playing with discomfort.’

‘I think my season is going well. It is normal for others to ask more from me and demand more from me. But now the decisive moment of the season has come and in Madrid we are playing better at this stage of the season.’
